Implant Restorations

Implant Crowns in Scarborough

The visible tooth that completes your implant, fitted and shaped to match your smile.

An implant crown is the porcelain tooth that attaches to a dental implant post once it has healed and integrated with your jawbone. If you already have an implant placed and are ready for the crown stage — or if an existing implant crown has come loose, chipped, or worn — we can help, including restoring implants that were originally placed at another clinic.

Open 7 days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays.

The tooth on top of the implant

A dental implant itself is the titanium post that sits in the jawbone, acting as an artificial tooth root. The implant crown is the part you actually see and use to bite — a custom-shaped, custom-shaded porcelain restoration that attaches to the top of the implant once it has fully healed.

We regularly restore implants that were surgically placed by an oral surgeon or periodontist elsewhere, as well as implants originally placed and restored here. If you have a healed implant and need a crown, or your implant crown needs to be repaired or replaced, your existing implant records help your dentist plan the fit efficiently.

When an implant crown appointment makes sense

You may be ready for an implant crown consultation if:

  • Your implant post was placed and has finished healing
  • You were told by your surgeon that you are ready to move to the restorative stage
  • An existing implant crown has chipped, loosened, or come off
  • You are unsure of the condition of an implant placed years ago and want it checked
  • You are relocating your dental care and want a new dentist familiar with implant restorations

From healed implant to finished crown

  1. Implant assessment

Your dentist checks the implant's stability, gum health around it, and takes an X-ray to confirm it is ready for a crown.

  2. Impression or digital scan

A precise impression or scan of the implant position is taken and sent to a dental lab to fabricate the custom crown.

  3. Shade and shape matching

The crown is designed to match the size, shape, and colour of your surrounding natural teeth.

  4. Fitting and attachment

Once the crown returns from the lab, your dentist checks the fit and bite before securing it to the implant.

  5. Follow-up check

A short follow-up visit confirms the crown is settling in comfortably and the surrounding gum tissue looks healthy.

What does an implant crown cost in Scarborough

Implant crown cost depends on the crown material, the complexity of matching it to neighbouring teeth, and whether any repair work is needed on the implant itself first.

  • Crown material and lab fabrication
  • Whether this is a new crown or a replacement for a damaged one
  • Condition of the implant and surrounding gum tissue
  • Whether records from a previous implant surgery are available

We provide an exact written quote after examining your implant in person — bring any documentation from your original implant surgery if you have it, and we'll factor that into your plan.
