First, confirm whether this is the temporary or final crown
Before eating, check the instructions you received about numbness and the material used to secure your crown. There is no single online waiting period that suits every fitting. Ask for clarification if the instructions are missing or unclear.

If your next visit has to move, contact the office rather than assuming the temporary can stay indefinitely. Tell the team about any looseness or discomfort when you reschedule so they can advise on the appropriate timing.
Build the routine around the tooth, not just the crown
Brush and clean between the teeth, including around the crown's gumline, using the technique your dental team recommends. A crown does not make the supporting tooth immune to problems. Ask for a demonstration if floss catches or you are unsure how to clean beside a temporary. Do not force a tool against a sore area or abandon cleaning without seeking advice. The right instruction should fit your actual restoration, not just a generic diagram.

Speak up about fit, food trapping, or looseness
If your bite feels uneven, food repeatedly catches in one place, or the crown moves, contact the dental office for assessment. Describe the change without repeatedly rocking the crown to test it. Keep any detached crown safe and ask for instructions; do not glue it back with household products.
